Peter Littlewood is the Young People’s Trust for the Environment’s Director. He started working for the Trust in 1993, by which time he was already an experienced outdoor instructor. He now has over 20 years experience of leading and organising residential trips for school groups and young people.
He became the Trust’s Director in 1999, and has been responsible for heading major projects including the Living for the Future Millennium Awards and Barclaycard LivingLand, which ran from 2001-2004 and Making waves in your community for Northumbrian Water in 2005. He is currently responsible for devising and delivering the TOTAL Green School Awards.
Peter is interested in developing new projects for corporate sponsors and supporters. He is currently working with Eurostar to develop a new programme of support which will run from 2011 to 2013.
Ultimately, his ambition is the creation of a new low impact residential centre for environmental education, which will use alternative technologies and resource-saving practices wherever possible.
Peter has written three books on environmental issues, two of which have already been published. You can find out more here. The third is due for publication in early 2012.

Dear Peter
I stumbled across your website today and what little I have managed to find time to read has prompted me to send you a message. Peter, it is people like you that are so encouraging to know exist out there for this planet. Every single article I have breifly read this morning has such incredible POSITVE touch to the content. I have always maintained that if there are a group of people that are able to turn the world around it has to be the “journalists” If only they would report news in the fashoin that you do with the “positive” touch then we would be such an incredibly powerful society to care more for “everything” on this planet, ourselves, each other and the environment we live in. Thank you for the tremendous passion and work you do for this planet and just know there are some of us out here who are proud of you and so appreciate your incrdible input. Keep up the fantastic drive and we will always be there to support you.
Take care
Regards
Dee
