Support from Charitable Trusts
We greatly value support from charitable trusts. Your donations enable us to make a real difference with our work.
A key area for charitable trust support is the the expansion of our
school talks programme, which is already available in the southwest and the north of England. We provide our school talks free of charge and in the 2007-08 academic year, we provided 412 talks in to audiences totalling almost 15,500 young people. This was achieved by just two speakers, neither of whom are employed full-time.

Additionally, we wish to extend our provision of
subsidised residential courses for young people in disadvantaged areas. Thanks to funding from the City Bridge Trust, we have been able to provide highly discounted prices to London schools for our Environmental Discovery Courses in Somerset. The scheme has been very successful, with a take-up of around 300 young people from ten different schools each year.

Ideally, we would like a similar subsidy provision to be available for schools in disadvantaged areas throughout the UK. We already have experience of running this kind of programme from Barclaycard LivingLand, for which we provided £100,000 of subsidy funding for our courses each year from 2001-04.
