Supporting our school talks programme

Education must continue to form the basis for environmental decision-making, yet there are significant gaps in our young people’s knowledge of the natural world and a scarcity of funding for long-term education. Find out how your company can contribute to YPTE's education programme.

Underwrite YPTE’s School Talks Programme
For over 25 years YPTE’s School Talks Programme has been increasing the understanding of key environmental issues to schools right across the country, raising the need for conservation action and policy by schools and local communities.
In the 2007-8 academic year, YPTE provided 412 talks to almost 15,500 children. Corporate partnerships present an opportunity to expand our education programme and investigate new ways of delivering the presentations to reach more people. Companies can help YPTE increase school children’s understanding of key environmental issues by funding talks in a number of locations across the country.

Ways of supporting the School Talks Programme:

  • Helping sponsor and developing new teaching materials.
  • Underwriting talks to ensure their survival.
  • Providing teaching and communication equipment.
  • Providing resources for YPTE’s teachers to deliver the talks. Disseminating research findings among policy makers.
  • Producing publications such as training guides, species I.D. posters and field handbooks.
