Free School Talks

Our talks, which usually include consist of a lively presentation from one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable Education Officers are of a purely educational nature with absolutely no fundraising strings attached.

This service is available FREE to schools - from infants to GCSE! We carry our own presentation materials and an average session usually lasts about an hour - but this can be adjusted to suit your requirements. One of our Education Officers will discuss your requirements in detail with you a few days prior to delivering the talk to ensure that it meets your objectives.

School Talks are currently available free of charge to schools WITHIN 100 MILES of CREWKERNE, SOMERSET, or KEIGHLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE.


Typical Talk Topics

Humans and the environment -
Covering a wide variety of issues, such as pollution, habitat destruction, endangered species, and the importance of SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

Habitats - The ecology of ponds, deciduous woodlands, hedgerows and rainforests is explored including food chains, recycling of nutrients and adaptation to habitat by various plants and animals. One of these habitats may be chosen - or a comparison may be made between two or more.

British Animals - A variety of common and endangered species; mainly mammals, but also other vertebrates and a few invertebrates.

Endangered Animals - From Britain and around the world.

Minibeasts - Study of invertebrates both on land and in freshwater.

Wildlife in the Garden - A look at some of the animals that we find in gardens either at home or school.

Fur, Feather, Skin and Scale - A look at different groups of vertebrate animals.

Most suitable for Junior - Secondary.
For any age group
Any age, also suitable for infants.
